It looks strange to imagine Ibiza during this period. How can an island, that basically live in summer with hot temperatures and a lot of people, be cozy and surrounded by a Christmas atmosphere? It’s possible…different, but real! Since the beginning of November the first street lights have begun to be installed in various municipalities of the island; slowly but constantly stars ad balls appeared (turned off, of course) over our head, like Christmas tree in the squares of Ibiza town as well as Santa Eulalia, San José and San Antonio. When December arrived, everything was already ready to be switched on…and let the party begin. Party, events, markets and other happening that can entertain people from the island and winter tourist that would like to spend a different December, between the sea and the pines, with the incursion of some fir. Here some appointments that we suggest for you…
Christmas Market with Island vibe – Las Dalias from 3rd to 31st December (Saturdays from 10 to 17, Sundays from 11 to 17)
Not the typical Nordic Christmas market, but its island version with the creations of the island’s artisans and artists who, after an intense summer season, are still standing to face the Christmas period. A passage and a greeting are a must, even if only for encouragement. Not to miss the LIBERARTE EXPOSICIÓN, Sunday 18th, an exhibition of island artists accompanied by music and performances (check the event page here) and the Día del producto de Ibiza, Saturday 17th, an ode to local products, in which visitors will be able to enjoy exhibition, tasting and purchase of typical products of the Island. For who wanna dance, a couple of night organized at Akasha, Las Dalias club, will let you party with different sound and djs spinning all night long (take a look at the agenda to organize your plan.
But you don’t have to come to the north to see market, as they run in different part of the Island: there is one in Ibiza town, Vara del Rey market runs until 5 January from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00 (December 24 and 31 from 11:00 – 14:00); in the central square of Santa Eulalia and in San Antonio.
